Edwin Kim, MD, FAPA![]() President Elect, 2024-2026
Dr. Edwin Kim is President-Elect of the Federation of State Physician Health Programs (FSPHP) and serves as a Medical Director of the Pennsylvania Physicians’ Health Program. Within the Peer Assistance Monitoring Program of the Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, he is also responsible for the Dental Health Program, Nurses Health Program, and Pharmacy Health Program. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry, as well as the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Addiction Medicine. Recognized as a physician leader in advocacy and leadership, Dr. Kim is deeply committed to the well-being of the healthcare workforce. He actively champions policies that balance public safety with the compassionate treatment of healthcare professionals facing substance use and mental health challenges. His work emphasizes the critical importance of reducing stigma and creating safe pathways for providers to seek help, ensuring the longevity and health of the medical community. Currently, Dr. Kim maintains clinical privileges at Penn Medicine, and also serves as the Director of Addiction Treatment Services at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. He continues the important work of supervising and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as a Clinical Assistant Professor (Affiliated) of Stanford University School of Medicine. As a dedicated leader within the FSPHP, Dr. Kim chairs the Membership Committee, sits on the Public Policy and Ethics Committees, and is a member of the Safe Haven Task Force. |
